“Obi-Wan Kenobi” Massive Update!

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” Disney+ Series

In Mid 2022 our favourite Jedi Master from the prequels will appear in his first ever solo project on Disney+. So far Disney have released a small Featurette on Disney+ along with some concept art. Apart from this we have been kept in the dark about what and who will appear in the 6 episode series.

So far we know:

  • Darth Vader will make a return on the big screen (hopefully wielding his lightsabre). As hinted by Kathleen Kennedy we should expect the “rematch of the century”. Canonically we last saw Vader In episode three with his Iconic “nooooo” line after his transformation into the suit which is in heavy contrast to how we see him in episode four as the terrifying dark villain. hopefully the Kenobi series will explore this transformation in some aspect.

  • The show itself will begin around 10 years into Obi-Wans quest to protect Luke Skywalker, So around 9BBY (10 years after ROTS & 9 years before ANH) this being a period in which we have seen a lot of media centred around (such as “The Bad Batch” and “Solo”) however it will be interesting to see Obi-wans point of view of the empire and his old apprentices betrayal.

  • There will be an appearance from Vader’s Inquisitors in Kenobi. Before the release of the concept art this was only speculation driven from Sung Kang interview with screen rant where he revealed that his character wielded a lightsabre, however now we know that he will be playing the role of the Fifth Brother along side the Eighth Brother and the Seventh Sister. We hope to see the inquisitors lock blades with Kenobi however it shouldn’t be much of a fight considering how poorly these inquisitors were at actually hunting Jedi in Rebels.

  • According to https://makingstarwars.net And a few other News Outlets, we could be seeing the return of our favourite Little Orange Friend in one of the new Kenobi Episodes. Sources say that Maz’s Castle on Takanawa was seen being set up recently. Currently which episode the cameo will be in is uncertain but we look forward to seeing the return.

Episode Count, Speculated Release Dates and Further Production Information

The Anticipated Release of “Obi-Wan" Kenobi” comes with a few questions which we aim to answer in this category.

The “Obi-Wan Kenobi” Series is stated to have 6-Hour long episodes by McGregor in an interview with Men’s Journal.

The series will follow the same genres and “The Mandalorian” and “The book of Boba Fett” with a space western style of scenery (hence Tatooine)

The show is set to air in the first half of 2022 if we look at how “The Mandalorian” released.

The series will be spearheaded by Deborah Chow (who directed 2 episodes") and written by Joby Harold.

The series wrapped filming recently.
